At approximately 10:10pm last night, Gogebic County Sheriff’s Deputies Responded to a 911 report of a domestic disturbance in Marenisco Township. Initial reports were received that the suspect was in possession of a firearm and using a chainsaw to cut trees to impede egress to and from the residence.
The victim was able to safely flee the residence just prior to officer’s arrival.
Responding officer’s were able to establish communication with the suspect and after a short time he surrendered without further incident.
The suspect, age 37, of Marenisco Township is currently logged in The Gogebic County Jail on charges of Domestic Assault and Possession of Firearm’s While Intoxicated. His name is not being released pending arraignment. His bond has been set at $25,000.00 Cash.
Assisting in the arrest were The Michigan State Police, Marenisco Township Police and L.V.D Tribal Police.
