Vanessa L. Hastings, 39, L’Anse

Vanessa L. Hastings, age 39 of L’Anse, MI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 10, 2026. She was born in Waukesha, WI on October 4, 1986 the daughter of the Scott and Tracy (Garrick) Hastings, SR. Vanessa graduated from high school and received her Certified Nursing Assistant degree at KBOCC.

She was employed at Pettibone Corp, Baraga as a laborer. Vanessa enjoyed music and going to concerts, hobby crafts, including diamond art, hiking, camping and loved animals, especially her bird “Loda”.

Vanessa is survived by her loving family; her children Hailey Moore of Elkhorn, WI, Stevie Garrick-Clark of Janesville, WI, Zoie Cribbs of Ishpeming, Avery Mukka of L’Anse, Kylee Douglas of Dollar Bay and Oliver Douglas of Dollar Bay, 2 grandchildren on the way,  father Scott Hastings, Sr of East Troy, WI, brother Scott (Kylee) Hastings, Jr of Elkhorn, WI, sisters Chandar Hastings of Delavan, WI, and Jenna Hastings of Elkhorn, WI, her boyfriend Shawn Smith of L’Anse, 1 nephew, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Tracy, grandmother Betty Linneman, and grandfather and grandmother Bill and Louise Hastings.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse.
